A deflated and time-withered Kim Potter is only days away from no longer needing to barter Ramen Noodles and coffee for protection. She’s set to be released from the Minnesota Department of Corrections on Monday, April 24th. It was just 16 months ago when the ex-copper was stripped of her dignity and locked up for shooting a violent, suspected murderer who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Prison life has been rough
In 2022, Potter had claimed that she mistakenly shot Wright, believing that she was firing her Taser and not her substantially heavier Glock 9mm. Whether Potter had really confused her gun for a Taser or whether Wright was a violent piece of shit had no bearing on the outcome.
The unsettling truth was that 2022 was tainted with the whole George Floyd brew-ha-ha and Potter was white, while Write was supposedly black.
Daunte Wright victim of Karma?
Those that subscribe to Karmic justice or divine recompense may insist Daunte Wright got what was coming and ex-officer Potter was merely the vessel of atonement. Wright was the subject of multiple violent offenses, not the least of which left his childhood friend severely incapacitated.
